It may be that the film makers simply tried to tell Noah's tale without the main character being present. Terrible green screen, inconsistent lighting and storm effects have actors standing in the sun whilst all around there is tempest. Now Matt sees his vow as a personal matter, and won't even tell her about it, but his friends think otherwise, and now the complications begin...Rated R for strong sexual content, nudity and language There was an opportunity, even in this film, to address issues of Divine will and providence.

Watchlist. I wonder how copies of this movie have not all been destroyed upon request from the actors... My favourite scenes in the movie were the ones where it was showing heavy rain, but you can see the clear shadow of lamp-posts and other objects, even the shadow of the actresses hair on their faces. 6 out of 7 found this helpful Want to share IMDb's rating on your own site? It will take longer to get over this movie than to watch it. No amount of drugs and alcohol could make watching 40 DAYS AND NIGHTS less cringe worthy. I have to concur with another reviewer in that this movie causes one to stand in awe at of the synergy of bad science, absurd logic, and inexplicable behavior. One: The movie contains language and sexual innuendos that would not make it a biblical movie, at all.
