Twist the base of the ceiling light to free it from the screws and the mounting bracket. My dome had 3 meatl prongs inside the globe that held the glass in.

We end up dismantling the entire fixture because we couldn't leave it hanging TOO Heavy &couldnt line it up with the 2 screws to put it back!! If your breakers aren't labeled like mine are, you may have to take a few tries to be sure you have turned off the correct one. And thus my hopes of getting a dimmer to work…. The screw at the bottom to hold the glass dome in place always unscrews the entire bolt making it frustrating and time consuming to fix things. by Sea Gull Lighting. :-0Sanjeev…. But even it I manage to get a screwdriver in there, how will I put it in place without looking? For me it was applying light pressure near the rim, and fortunately didn't have to use gloves.Instead of gloves I was able to tap the glass all around the edges until I could feel it loosen.
