He's keeping himself busy though and doesn't really hold a grudge against Daryl Hall. Not to mention Paul's position in Hall & Oates… As for Joe Walsh; he's a guitar god… Lots o yammering! Coincidence? Photo Gallery. Lewis was able to convince Hall of this(and has a longer history with DH as well)and Pesco was promptly FIRED from the show via a phone call that didn't even come from Daryl who apparently is too high and mighty to do his own dirty work. His tone was awful and his playing was stiff. The reason that Paul left LFDH was because of some serious friction between him and Eliot Lewis the keyboard player.

Great show with Rob Thomas, Neon Trees, Fitz & Tantrums, think i recall seeing Pat from Train too. I had no idea who he was until he was gone. He also played on Madonna’s Erotica album and joined The Girlie Show World Tour in 1993. Paul can be seen these days playing for Robert Randolph and The Family band ! But the 2nd half was really, really great, starting at "Here Today". Hope to enjoy some more soon. So, Hall & Oates was inducted into the Hall of Fame and Paul Pesco wasn't there… Was so deeply disappointed that what Paul help build, there wasn't even a footnote of acknowledgement. WTF: Daryl, you shot yourself in the foot! Good luck Paul, you have a had successful prior to being with Daryl so you have a lot of options. Check Out … Not to mention Paul's position in Hall & Oates… As for Joe Walsh; he's a guitar god…Wow . Soon after, and throughout the 80s, Paul was known as one of the go-to session musician for a host of high-profile artists and his career flourished.

Notice that Lewis is playing some guitar on the show now? Paul Pesco always seemed to "into" the music and obviously (at one time) valued as Director, etc. His stoic quiet demeanor with obvious big talent and skill set was a Yes I don't get it why they moved out from Darryl Hall's farm -- it had a certain charm, now it looks like a bar band live tape event so I stopped watching the show. for the show. The feel just isnt there - but I dont know of any player or band that can do all genres perfectly. . The new guitarist is good but seems more adapted at jamming rather than the structure and style of songs ...he is good though....for whatever reason Paul is not there , with stars there is jealousy and spiteful retaliations sometimes. did any of you guys see/hear the sammy hagar episode?? When there's a "Live from Paul's place, I'll be watching. Sorry if necroing but just was watching live from dh and was realizing the impact of Paul Pesco more noticeable as director than "guitar player" You could tell from watching LFDH the Pesco was musical director. (Some of this was confirmed by Paul Pesco himself in messages that I exchanged with him via FB) Eventually Lewis bitched about it to Daryl and also suggested to him that Pesco was beginning to "eat up too much of the spotlight" and wasn't a team player like the other guys. Notice that Lewis is playing some guitar on the show now? The dude knows the funk. Yeah - saw him on a couple occasions on that episode - about as much as the house bassist.

The reason that Paul left LFDH was because of some serious friction between him and Eliot Lewis the keyboard player. It's Daryl's loss though because while Shane is a good guitar player he has the stage presence of Bill Wyman and looks lost at times. Especially the Kitty Daisy Lewis one and Aaron Neville. To the fan, it is clearly not the same w:o Pesco. That's right I forgot - that innovative guy with his 12 string bass. Last one - Cheap Trick....Oh Cheap trick has their own bass player? Shane Theriot is from time to time using Bogner amps (hurrah!) Paul Pesco always seemed to "into" the music and obviously (at one time) valued as Director, etc. Sorry for my cynicism folks… It hurts seeing the decline of a classic... I am SO pissed off about this! I am SO pissed off about this! You need an account to post a reply. How many of us can stay alive without a heart?

You guys are nuts! His absence is a real loss to the vibe, presence, and pleasing quality of the performance. Replacements and additions have stirred fans up from the Beatles, to the Stones and Journey and and and (and LFDH,). But people, now that you've taken sides, can you stop just long enough to think about what a truly strong show it still is? I think not lol.

Paul Pesco was the lead guitarist and musical director of the rock and soul duo Studios in New York, where he crossed paths with many well-known artists, and some not so well-known at the time including a young performer named Madonna who recognized his talent and hired him to record some sessions with her. He's done great things-come to find out, i own many of them. A little more raw and less polished, which suits the concept better anyway. He was replaced by Shane Theriot, who is not only a homeboy of mine but a mighty fine guitar player. how anyone could think Pesco offered something significant to that band is beyond me. Hope things work out for a reunion. . Click.

Extremely disappointed Paul Pesco is off Live From Daryl's House Shane seems to be more of a fill-in. During this time, Paul recorded the songs "Lucky Star" and "Burning Up," on Madonna’s first album and performed live on The Virgin Tour in 1985.

These are world class musicians and I love em all. Shane is playing a killer Guild single cutaway narrow hollow body with Gretsch DeArmond-style pickups.Just can't believe Daryl would let such an incredible talent like Paul Pesco get away…Yes I don't get it why they moved out from Darryl Hall's farm -- it had a certain charm, now it looks like a bar band live tape event so I stopped watching the show.
