The seat does get a bit weary after 120 miles, but by then it's time to stop and fill the tank. Forward controls and a Corbin seat make that much more comfortable. I've got an 02 with about 1500 miles on it. Die Trude ist Bj. Don't just charge it....take it to the auto parts place and load test it.
Suzuki got it right years ago and has been smart enough not to fix it if it isn't broken.
Rides quietly. Great for keeping those nasty blackflies out of my teeth. But also, there is a decompression sequence, when you first hit the button, the decomp opens an exhaust valve and rolls the engine half a stroke or so very slowly, then takes off and starts the engine. I couldn't go wrong for the price! The S83 turns the Intruder into the motorcycle I would have purchased had it been assembled that way when I went shopping. The only drawback is a small gas tank for the size of the motor. Anything bigger, ie LC1500, is just not as easy to manuever. I asked him if it was running when it was parked or if it had a problem that caused it to be parked. Should this bike ever die, I will get another. I recently upgraded to the VS1400 from a 650 Savage. I have put 32,000 miles on it in 24 months (20,000 first 12 months). I work four days on and four off. I took the battery out and it was in the lower 12 volts and i went ahead and charged it.
The weight keeps me from getting blown around. You'll still end up dumping the stock set of Bridgestone tires as well as upgrade to Progressive shocks and rejet the bike w/ better pipes to get everything you want out of this bike. Such power. This is my first street bike in 20 years.

If your starting technique is correct I am not sure where to look especially as this seems intermittent.

I think this bike needed some more lighting up front so I added two 55 watt halogen fog lights for extra visibility. It needs a better seat for long rides so I'm ready for a Corbin replacement. I could have bought two for the price of one Harley. It looks cool and will out anything a Harley does. Knowing it did not cost an arm and a leg makes it even better. Sortieren nach. I don't share this opinion, however my first motorcycle was an VS800 Intruder and I am used to the handling characteristics of such designs.
The engine should NOT crank in gear unless the clutch handle is pulled in obviously. Do you want a sport cruiser or a semi-touring bike?
