I liked some of the themes presented in this book: abuse, friendship, commitment, love, children. Then I re-read some passages and decided that no I was not. I think the biggest thing for me is that I cannot believe this was once upon a time selected as book as the month by Oprah Winfrey. Absolutely nothing.

In retrospect, I thought that Tara Road would be about, I don’t know…strangers who keep meeting each other on the road and have a chat about their everyday life and maybe the story could expand to some sort of adventure/mystery thing, I don’t know. 10 starsI really enjoy reading books written by Maeve Binchy. By a chance phone call, Ria meets Marilyn, a woman from New England unable to come to terms with her only son's death and now separated from her husband. Except that I only found this book on my second to last day of Irish vacation. Can you parallel the restoration of the house to Ria and Danny's relationship?
