Been reading here and there and have tested resistance on the spark coil.

Still waiting for the case gasket. Yes I measured ohms on pickup coil and its measuring 500 ohms. I have cked ignition fuse and its good. I also changed ignition coil and cap and plug.

If so, that is the stator wiring with 3 plain white wires.

I have ohmed out the ground on ignition coil and I have ohmed out orange wire from coil to cdi. Yes I have tried plug out in cap against the motor.

Why am I getting a minus anything from orange to ground? I haven't found anything yet. !I edited my last post while you entered yours. So guess im gonna change it too. Both are good. Red straight to red on cdi white/red to white/red on cdi white/green and white/green to white/green on cdi. I have read where I should have ac voltage coming from red and white and green and white wires but I have nothing. I got one for my Bog Bear a while back off there and it works great.Really wasn't convinced I could actually reach the plug and get accurate readings so I removed the gas tank, could then actually get to the plug and repeat the tests -- same result.

Ive checked all diodes in the harness and replaced 2 along with termo switch and still nothing. I ohmed out the stator and its right on the money. I also checked the red/white wire at cdi and im getting 12v and it doesn't drop while turning over. lol

Ok tried all three white wires and they average 20vac while turning over then tried meter on dc and put on red and white and green and white and nothing needle never moved. +1, Start with the basics- Check spark at plug. No sparky:eek5:!

I ohmed out my pickup coil at the cdi and its right on the money. Bought a new oem cdi and still nothing. I checked this with a digital and when I hook up my old style needle meter it goes straight to 0 and stays there. So, subtract -- gives me the 2004 will crank and crank and crank with no issues at all, it just won't spark. I'll hang on to the old parts, but with 0.00 reading on the stator it's probably dead too. I have no idea why disconnecting the R/R bypasses the function, but that is the diagnostic. I have ohmed out the ground on ignition coil and I have ohmed out orange wire from coil to cdi. Orange does not ohm to ground so its not shorted.

thanks for info im gonna ck all 4 wires from pickup coil to cdi and also is there a way to check the orange wire from cdi to ignition coil for voltage? I also unplugged lights just incase something was grounding. I put my positive lead on the orange wire that I ran back at the coil and my black lead against the frame and I get a -3.1 with key off.

Checked it with the ohm meter against the OEM book specs: Borrowed my buddys cdi and it started but ran bad. Ive checked all diodes in the harness and replaced 2 along with termo switch and still nothing. Working on a 2006 450.

I ohmed pickup coil and its right but then I touched the frame and got a 0.5 ohm reading. It's a little bit out of range but not dead shorted or completely open.my experience with cdi units shows no way to test them. I have the service manual and I have tested stator and pick up coil and found a little low so ordered new and changed and still no spark.

I pay my first note this week and haven't driven it 5 miles yet. I have ohmed it out and its good even ohmed it to ground and it didn't ohm. It's function is not needed on the Rhino.

Both are good. Orange does not ohm to ground so its not shorted. I unplugged r/r and even cut the red wire but nothing no spark If it starts then, the fix is to simply cut the red wire, as it is a carry-over from the engine's early kick-start applications. This sounds like something simple. The only thing I haven't changed is the wiring harness. Yes I have tried plug out in cap against the motor. Yes, I'll replace the whole thing. Checked it with the ohm meter against the OEM book specs:OK. I checked this with a digital and when I hook up my old style needle meter it goes straight to 0 and stays there. The first image is of the only 4-prong plug I can see on the right side of the engine.

Both are good. The only thing I haven't changed is the wiring harness. I have ohmed out the ground on ignition coil and I have ohmed out orange wire from coil to cdi. I also had a buddy get brave and held the spark plug while I turned it over and nothing man. I've got 0.5 Ω on the test leads. Do you have current to spark plug boot after coil. It's down low just before the harness goes under the floorboard. Also, after yet another look, on the first picture it looks like the connector with a tiny bit of White (?)

If I change the wiring harness and it still wont run then im out of options.

So guess im gonna change it too.
