"The Chaser" is the thirty-first episode of the The Twilight Zone. Sometimes I would think of an idea that would make the episode more Twilight Zone-y [but] that would require some expense. After Roger leaves, the professor muses, "First, the 'stimulant'... and then the 'chaser'."

Not just in love, but madly, passionately, illogically, miserably, all-consumingly in love - with a young woman named Leila, who has a vague recollection of his face and even less than a passing interest. After assuring Roger there is no way to undue or lessen the effect of the love potion, Roger takes it and plans to poison Leila. Frustrated, Roger visits a mysterious merchant named professor Daemon(played by John McIntire) who sells him a love potion for one dollar guaranteed to work, but offers a warning not to use, which of course goes unheeded, much to Roger's later semi-regret... Light-hearted but ultimately frivolous episode remains watchable because of the good cast and direction, but outcome could not be more obvious; still, it's hard to dislike this entry either.Looking for some great streaming picks?

Mr. Roger Shackelforth, who has discovered at this late date that love can be as sticky as a vat of molasses, as unpalatable as a hunk of spoiled yeast, and as all-consuming as a six-alarm fire in a bamboo and canvas tent. In a moment, you'll see a switch, because Mr. Roger Shackelforth, the young gentleman so much in love, will take a short, but very meaningful journey into the Twilight Zone.Roger Shackleforth is desperately in love with Leila, an aloof tease who plays cat-and-mouse with his affections.
