My 6 year old has watched it at least half a dozen times since getting it, and I find it good to reinforce my own messages to her that school should be any athlete's top priority, that friendship is important, and also that you can't win in any sport unless you work very hard and make sacrifices. This movie is cute and fun for kids and at the same time it teaches a wonderful lesson on how to have balance in life. The film is also the second in the series to feature a Girl of the Year … This has been my 14 year Daughters favorite movie. And it also teaches good friendship qualities and that it's okay to need help and that our parents and teachers are really there to help us; and though it may seem that they are punishing us they are really doing it because it's what is best for us. It's nice to watch the American Girl movies and know that my daughter is not only watching a good wholesome movie, but one with a good lesson as well.
