Hi, let me say that depending on what breed of macaw they can be HUGE i'm talking 30 some inches! They become extremely tame and are very easy to manage. I have found that Macaws tend to get into more places and tear things up. Both can certainly learn to use the words they know appropriately.
Their powerful beaks are unbelievable and they remind me of 2 your olds that want to explore eventhing.It is problaby easier for the Macaw to adapt to a new situation.
